Tango
from If I Could Live Long Enough by Tobin Mueller
Tango (The Dance)
Dance, knowing each step to take.
We join in the dance,
where there is no choice to make.
In practiced patterns thus of hate and lust
we play out all our gestured fates.
Why can't we swirl with feet unclad and fleet
and revel in the rhythms sweet
that play inside?

This is a tango I wrote for a movie shot in Bucharest, Romania, about a modern day Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The violin is played by Entcho Todorov. I play all other instruments. I added words to the last verse, something not used in the film.
I wrote three other tangos for this film, rerecorded for my 2006 album, A Bit Of Light. They make up the first three tracks of the album: Be My Love, I Have Dreamed In Another and Bring On The Storm.Return to the If I Could Live Long Enough page.
